Brief introduction

Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD), also known as [p] diphosphate nucleotide (DPN), or co dehydrogenase I or co enzyme I. In mammals, there are two states: oxidative (NAD+) and reduced (NADH). Oxidative (NAD+) has a maximum ultraviolet absorption spectrum at 260nm, receiving a hydrogen atom and an electron from the substrate through various deaminases to form reduced (NADH), with maximum absorption at 340nm.

β- Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide is used as a coenzyme in redox reactions, as a donor of ADP ribose in ADP-ribosylation reactions, and as a precursor of ADP ribose in the second messenger molecule ring. β- Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide also acts as a substrate for bacterial DNA ligase and a group of enzymes called sirtuins, which use NAD+to remove acetyl groups from proteins.

Physiological functions and effects

Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide is involved in various physiological activities such as cellular material metabolism, energy synthesis, and cellular DNA repair, and plays an important role in the body's immune system. In a healthy state, the concentration of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide in the human body is stable, maintaining normal cell functions. The concentration of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide in the body determines the process and degree of cell aging, and a decrease in concentration will accelerate the process of cell aging. Research has shown that NAD+has a protective effect on renal infarction caused by ischemic surgery, significantly reducing serum urea nitrogen and creatinine levels; NAD+has a protective effect on renal tubular injury caused by ischemic surgery.

NAD+(Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, abbreviated as NAD+) can effectively protect against kidney injury caused by renal ischemia. NAD+has important application value in the preparation of drugs for preventing and treating renal ischemic injury. In addition, nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide has certain applications in the preparation of inflammatory pain drugs. NAD+participates in regulating inflammatory pain induced by formalin and complete Freund's adjuvant (CFA) through NAD+dependent deacetylases SIRT1 and SIRT2, while SIRT1 and SIRT2 participate in the inhibitory effect of NAD+on inflammatory pain through different mechanisms, thereby achieving analgesic effects on inflammatory pain.
